Our mission

We believe that now is the time for the United Kingdom to reform its benefit system and to base it on a Universal Basic Income (also known as a Citizen’s Income).

Universal Basic Income would provide financial security for all, so that everyone has the resources they need to fulfil their potential. We urge others to express support for the principle of a Basic Income with the aim of making it an issue in the next General Election. Basic Income is a regular payment made to every individual, not means tested, non-withdrawable and without work conditions. It would :

  • Guarantee everyone a secure base which ensures that work always pays

  • Replace the complex benefits system with a scheme fit for the 21st century

  • Provide us all, including people who need extra income related to sickness, disability and housing, with the freedom to develop and contribute our talents, and the dignity we all deserve.

With your support we can press politicians to back this idea and make it a key campaign issue at the next General election.

If you agree with us please endorse the above statement and we would also love to hear why you support a basic income.

Give everyone the choice of whether to work for exploitative employers or explore a hobby or helpful volunteer work. Get rid of the admin of benefits. So many jobs will become automated. We won’t have enough work for everyone.

I think that a UBI is an inevitability and helps society as whole to achieve solutions to a lot of 21st century problems. The sooner people realise this the better.

Trickle down economics doesn’t work. To improve the economy, we need to get everyone spending more. The only way to do that is to make sure they have more to spend.

We are humans of infinite potential and basic income can help to realise so much in our society, think of the endless advances we could make in humanity, science, the arts, as well as supporting those who are ill or suffering from maladies without persecuting them and making them feel worthless

The only efficient way of unleashing human creativity, prosperity is throughout liberation from repetitive slave-like works. Let machines/robots to do what they anyway would do better, and let humans to became even more human.

I believe it’s time has come, the gross inequality is harmful to a stable society and we will never eliminate inequality totally nor need we but more equality will create more coherence and stability.

I believe that a new system is needed with less jobs due to more machines and we could so cut down on useless bureaucracy.

I agree that it’s a good idea and have heard there have been positive results in the countries where it’s been tested (Finland IIRC).

I think it is our one, last chance to build something resembling utopia. As the world see increases in poverty, homelessness, inequality and isolation we have a chance to be the generation that truly ushers in an age of compassion by using UBI to really start looking out for each other. Maybe then ‘community’ will be more then a politicians campaign tagline.
