    Hi Barb (Jacobson) :)

As I live in Brisbane, Australia, I won’t be able to attend Work isn’t Working in London on June 16 much as I would LOVE to! Is there any chance this meeting (or the talks) will be recorded? An audio would be marvelous.

    Thank you ver much

Everything I read or listen to regarding basic income centres around the working age & their families. Its no good pensioners coming off means tested benefits if it’s not enough to live on as many struggle to cope financially & physically.

Just something that people may be interested in because it’s a cryptocurrency based system that wants to provide a Basic Income for everyone. The link is below (I have added my personal referral code so I do benefit from telling others about it):

I hope this helps someone ;-)

I am a third year Politics, Philosophy and Economics student at the University of Manchester and am currently in the process of researching UBI for my dissertation.

I genuinely believe that basic income is the potential answer to most of the biggest problems faced by society now. Unemployment, poverty, growing inequality, a bloated welfare state that stigmatises the needy – all of these problems could be alleviated with one common-sense political move.

I am thinking of directing my dissertation at overcoming some of the main philosophical objections to UBI (repicrocity, exploitation of the contributors, etc).

I was just wondering whether you could point me in the direction of any useful resources. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

    All the best,

    Hi Basic Income UK,

I’ve just sent a message regarding the same thing to you on Facebook (The Zeitgeist Movement, presentation/Q&A):

I would like to invite all involved with BIUK to the presentation I will be co-giving on Saturday 3rd December, The Lab, Northampton (NN1 3BG) – on the current socioeconomic problems we see (and don’t see) today, and possible solutions to it. In the presentation, and hopefully in greater detail in the Q&A / discussion that will follow, UBI will be advocated – as is by The Zeitgeist Movement in general.

Unfortunately I can’t attach the poster of the event here, as there is no option to.

Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask,

    many thanks,

Hi, We are thinking of holding an event to promote the basic income in January – possibly in my ward – Penparcau where there is a lot of poverty. Do you have ideas for any speakers that would attract a large audience? We really need something impressive to get people engaged. Many thanks. Mererid

In support of the concept of a `Basic Income’ for ALL!

A proposed new global financial paradigm/ecosystem will soon be introduced to all United Nation’s member states. The operational protocols required to fully implement the proposed new paradigm are delineated in a 149 page thesis titled: THESIS: A NEW GLOBAL FINANCE PARADIGMBANKS, CURRENCY, FINANCE CAPITAL AND THE SOVEREIGN NATION-STATE IN THE 21ST CENTURY.

It is globally identified as ISBN: 978-1-77136-395-2 (unpublished). In late 2016… on into 2017, I will be searching assistance to identify a reputable publisher to put the Thesis into the public domain… globally. The Thesis is protected by `Intellectual Property Legislation’, under `Certificate of Registration’ number 1127727.

The Thesis is the culmination of 8 years of researching the origins of the American-based financial debacle that came to be known as the `Great Recession’… the debacle that gave rise to the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) initiative during September and October of 2011.

The public face of the OWS initiative has now disappeared; it has morphed into multi-national, multi-dimensional, multi-level, acutely-focused initiatives. It appears that my Thesis is the only initiative to provide a new alternative global financial paradigm/ ecosystem that could very easily REPLACE THE EXISTING global financial paradigm/ecosystem. Some colleagues have nick-named the Thesis: OWS v 1.5

There are 2 CRITICAL BENEFITS that will accrue to ALL sovereign nation-states that adopt and implement ALL TENETS put forth in the Thesis; as well as many, many more important, but less critical benefits. The Thesis demonstrates how childishly-simple it will be to:

FIRST… enable ALL sovereign nation-states to totally EXPUNGE ALL EXISTING SOVEREIGN NATION-STATE DEBT. In effect, no sovereign nation-state will ever again need to seek, nor engage Finance Capital from the IMF, the World Bank, nor from international Capital Markets. As a matter of fact, the IMF, the World Bank, and even the BIS will slowly become redundant… soon to totally disappear… save and except for the BIS’s (hopefully) research departments.

SECOND… application of ALL TENETS put forth in the Thesis will enable ALL SOVEREIGN NATION-STATE’S CURRENCIES TO FOREVER-MORE BE AT PAR WITH ALL OTHER SOVEREIGN NATION-STATE’S CURRENCIES… a financial boon to pensioners, the infirm, the unemployed… the list goes on, and on. FOREX will become but a foot-note in the annals of history.

The application of all tenets put forth in the Thesis will save each sovereign nation-state BILLIONS OF DOLLARS EACH YEAR in debt-servicing costs… money that can then be redirected to more meaningful socioeconomic initiatives… including the concept of `Basic Income’ for ALL RESIDENTS of a sovereign nation-states.

There will be extreme push-back from the global finance industry… especially from the global Finance Capital Markets, and from those financial entities engaged in FOREX activities.

To counter such push-back, it is my belief that the global publication of the Thesis will generate a major public response (public back-lash) that will in fact, severely mute the push-back from the financial industry; and, most importantly, should the public assertively promote all tenets put forth in the Thesis with their respective national governments/politicians… all politicians around the world will be very, very hard-pressed to side with the financial industry… in effect, to deny their citizens enhanced socioeconomic benefits… thus making all finance industry lobbyist’s efforts futile.
