Our mission

We believe that now is the time for the United Kingdom to reform its benefit system and to base it on a Universal Basic Income (also known as a Citizen’s Income).

Universal Basic Income would provide financial security for all, so that everyone has the resources they need to fulfil their potential. We urge others to express support for the principle of a Basic Income with the aim of making it an issue in the next General Election. Basic Income is a regular payment made to every individual, not means tested, non-withdrawable and without work conditions. It would :

  • Guarantee everyone a secure base which ensures that work always pays
  • Replace the complex benefits system with a scheme fit for the 21st century
  • Provide us all, including people who need extra income related to sickness, disability and housing, with the freedom to develop and contribute our talents, and the dignity we all deserve.

With your support we can press politicians to back this idea and make it a key campaign issue at the next General election.

If you agree with us please endorse the above statement and we would also love to hear why you support a basic income.

It could remove the benefit trap, reduce the cost of providing welfare, reduce VAT fraud, simplify tax, develop into a method for redistributing wealth and mitigate the risks of increased automation.

Jobs are dissapearing and market forces for setting wages are too powerful. The minimum wage is becoming the wage for people.

Basic Income is the only possible solution for our futures. The delusion of full employment is just that.

Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies will make the Financial Sector Obsolete – almost nobody will have a job opportunity, but we need to embrace that. We are not born into slavery surely?

Imagine how we can progress societally, if we are free of our 65 Year sentence, with retirement off for good behaviour.

A Yorkshire Plumber once said this to me.

“They say a bit of hard work never hurt anybody – but it kills horses”

Isn’t it about time we had an economy that served the people? As it stands now most people in the world are enslaved by it. If fully implemented globally UBI might just be the most liberating idea in human history.

I support the basic income because it is the best expression of what a modern welfare state should do: Provide people with security so that they can make life decisions for the good of themselves and others without the fear of inhumane consequences. Secure People Dare.

In my opinion, the basic income can allow a new generation of people to challenge establishment neo-liberalism and save the world from its worst excesses. Anthropogenic Global Warming, Bio-degradation, Pandemics, Fundamentalism and Erosion of the Commons all threaten our destruction and our current system just isn’t up to the job.
